Growing up, I devoured books - they were the first thing packed to go on a family cross country RV tour (46 states!). Not long after, I picked up a camera for the first time and fell in love with image making, going on to earn a BFA and MFA in photography and working in the commercial photography industry as a photographer and art director in Lima, Peru along side my husband, garnering a wide range of clients and projects. Also an experienced digital restoration artist, I have repaired and reproduced works on paper, canvas, photographs, rare books and journals, and completed projects for national insurance companies, the DuSable Museum, the La Salle Bank collection, Loyola University, and Harley Davidson, to name a few.

After moving back to Chicago, I missed the creative outlet of the photo studio and decided to learn to draw. I discovered children’s book illustration and found the perfect way to integrate my love of stories and image making and haven’t looked back since!

I was the recipient of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators of Illinois Illustration Mentorship 2020 and live in Evanston, Illinois with my husband, two sons, and a Peruvian cat.
